ISW cordially invites you to a Field Report with General James Mattis, U.S. Central Command. General Mattis and Dr. Kimberly Kagan will discuss the future of the Middle East and emerging challenges and opportunities in the CENTCOM area of responsibility. General Mattis previously commanded the 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade and then Task Force 58, during Operation Enduring Freedom in southern Afghanistan.

This event will celebrate the launch of ISW’s new Middle East Security Project, which expands ISW’s research purview in order to provide operational insight on the changing dynamics of the region.
